Another As it was reported last night that it would happen by the Lake County Sentinel, the Cleveland Browns have fired Head Coach Hue Jackson. The Browns fell to the Steelers on Sunday 33-18 in what turned out to be Jackson’s final game as the field boss of the Browns.

Jackson was hired with great fan fair as the savior of the franchise in January of 2016. Jackson was the offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals when the Browns snatched him up.

In 40 games as the Browns Head Coach Jackson went 3-36-1. His record includes a 1-15 2016 season winning only one game on Christmas Eve when they defeated the Chargers.

Things got worse in 2017 when the Browns failed to win a game, going 0-16 in 2017.

This season brought new problems as the Browns hired Todd Haley as offensive coordinator and reportedly Jackson and Haley were constantly at odds. The Browns started the season 1-1-1 but are now 2-5-1and tension between Jackson and Haley reportedly boiled over on Sunday morning prior to the game with the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

According to multiple reports Browns offensive assistant Al Saunders will be named interim head coach of the team.

Saunders is 71 years old and a native of London, England. He has been an NFL Assistant coach or coordinator since 1983 for eight (San Diego Chargers, St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, Oakland Raider, Miami Dolphins and the Browns since 2016). Saunders served as the Chargers head coach from 1986 to 1988 for 39 games with a record of 17-22. .
