Lake Erie College Baseball to play home games at Classic Park beginning in 2017 thru 2020

(PAINESVILLE, OH) – The Lake Erie College baseball team announced a three year partnership with Classic Park on Monday (August 21). Per the agreement, the Storm will now play all home contests at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio thru 2020.

"We are excited to announce a multi-year agreement with Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio to play all of our home games both Great Midwest Athletic Conference games as well as non-conference games, effective this coming season. Classic Park is one of the best facilities in the region with aesthetics and amenities that are unmatched" said Head Coach Cameron Castro.

Coach Castro added "I would like to thank Nick Dobrinich and Neil Stein with the Lake County Captains for making all of this possible as well as Lake Erie College President Brian Posler and Vice President Billie Dunn, for their support in making this move".

"Fortunately I was able to experience Classic Park as a Student-athlete during my time with the Storm and now to be able to bring our program back there was an opportunity I felt we couldn't pass up. I am excited to work hand in hand with Classic Park and the Lake County Captains to provide our players with a first class experience", said Coach Castro.

Coach Castro concluded, "Above all I am happiest for our student-athletes and the experience that they will receive playing at a professional baseball facility. This move not only benefits our players but also gives our alumni, families, and friends of the program a ballpark they can be proud to call the home of Lake Erie College baseball".

For the past 10 years, Lake Erie baseball has played the majority of its home games on Diamond Two at Kiwanis Recreation Park in Painesville, Ohio. We would like to thank the city of Painesville and Rec Park for 10 successful years. Rec Park will remain the practice facility for Storm baseball in the fall and spring.

Classic Park is home to the Lake County Captains a minor league team (Class A) affiliated with the Cleveland Indians.
