​Storm blows out Bluefield State College 94-40  
(PAINESVILLE, OH) - The Lake Erie College women's basketball team won their second straight game with a 94-40 victory over the Bluefield State College Big Blues on Wednesday (Jan. 17) night at the Osborne Center.

The Storm set a season-best in points scored (94) and points allowed (40) in the contest while everyone in the Storm lineup. Lake Erie also set season-highs in steals (23) and rebounds (59).

"It was nice to see every player in the lineup score tonight. Tonight was an opportunity for some of the girls to play meaningful minutes," said Storm head coach Bob Booher.

Six different players scored for the Storm as Lake Erie won the first quarter 28-2. Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) led with ten points in the frame.

Lake Erie used four consecutive layups to begin the second quarter on an 8-0 run. Bluefield State responded with a 10-4 run over the next three minutes. The Storm held a 45-15 lead at the intermission. Christine Dawson (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) scored six points in the second quarter.

Nine different players scored in the third quarter for Lake Erie as the Storm improved their lead to 71-20 after three quarters.

Alexis Todd (Columbus, Ohio / Westerville Central) scored 13 of the Storm's 23 points in the fourth quarter as the Storm outscored the Big Blues 23-20. The Storm won 94-40.

Gabor scored a game-high 21 points with eight rebounds and a season-high five steals. Todd finished with a career-high 13 points and four rebounds off of the bench. Dawson added 12 points while Benner ended with ten points. Sophie Sonneman (Jamestown, Ohio / Greeneview) grabbed a career-high nine rebounds.

Nine different players established new season or career highs in the contest.

The Storm will host Ohio Dominican on Saturday (Jan. 20) afternoon at 3:00 PM.
