Lake and Geauga County Students to participate in five-day summer manufacturing camp
(PAINSVILLE, OH) – Monday marks the first day of a five-day manufacturing camp in Painsville to help local students from Lake and Geauga Counties learn about manufacturing, teamwork, and local manufacturing facilities. The theme of the camp is medical manufacturing.
“Ohio has a proud manufacturing history that has driven our economy and attracted investment in our state,” said Brown. “To continue that tradition, we must get a new generation interested in manufacturing. The goal of our Summer Manufacturing Camps is to teach young people about the manufacturing job opportunities in our state and inspire them to reach their full potential.”
This learning opportunity gives local students entering fifth and sixth grades the opportunity to learn about careers in their community, tour local manufacturing facilities, and learn from experts. Students learn how products are made, participate in team-building exercises, and work on a project specific to their community.
Video remarks from Senator Brown will be played on the final day of the camp.
