The Cleveland Cavaliers knew March was going to brutal. Clinging to hope for a playoff spot, the Cavs have entered the toughest part of their schedule with fewer and fewer games left to make up ground. After opening March with a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Cavs welcomed the San Antonio Spurs to town Tuesday night.
The Spurs arrived in Cleveland with at least two Hall of Famers and the second-best record in the Western Conference, not to mention a renewed focus after their devastating loss in the NBA Finals a season ago. The Cavs are currently on the outside looking in at the crummy Eastern Conference’s playoff picture, and Mike Brown’s bunch is fighting to stay afloat as injuries have plagued them.
