Cavaliers single game tickets go on sale September 29th

With the leaves starting to turn shades of crimson wine and golden yellow, it’s a sure sign that Cleveland is getting ready for another season of Cavs basketball! On cue, Cavaliers single game tickets for 2012-13 NBA season will go on sale Saturday, September 29th at 10:00 a.m.  Better yet, fans can reap the benefits of being a Cavaliers Insider to receive an exclusive presale opportunity on September 27th-28th.  Single game tickets start at just $10.

New this year, the Cavs will split ticket availability for their 41 home game schedule with two separate on-sale dates for the first and second half of the 2012-13 season.  On September 29th, tickets will be available for the first half of the season to see the Cavs take on the Chicago Bulls, L.A. Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and more.  Fans can purchase tickets starting with the home opener on Tuesday, October 30th vs. the Washington Wizards through the January 29th Cavs vs. Golden State Warriors game.

Tickets for the second half of the season will go on sale December 14th beginning with the February 2nd game against Oklahoma City Thunder through the final game of the regular season on April 15th vs. the NBA Champion Miami Heat.  Fans can visit cavs.com to view the Cavaliers 2012-13 season schedule.

The new split season on-sale format is designed to deliver increased value to full season and partial season ticket plan holders, as well as group (10+ tickets to a single game) ticket purchasers, by giving them the ability to secure their seats, including the biggest games, for the entire season.  Full season ticket holders also have immediate access to the team’s only official, secure and guaranteed secondary ticket marketplace, Flash Seats on cavs.com, to sell or transfer any second half of the season tickets they wish. All fans can also access Flash Seats for second half of the season ticket purchases starting immediately as well.

The new split season on-sale format also serves to benefit fans that simply plan on waiting to purchase single game tickets for second half of the season games. Historical ticket purchasing data indicates that a significant number of single game tickets purchased during the initial pre-season on-sale period for games occurring in the second half of the season have been made by third parties and others operating in non-guaranteed, non-affiliated secondary markets. The new split season on sale format will also help limit that occurrence and provide more and better available seating for those games in the primary marketplace, as well as in the only team-sanctioned and guaranteed secondary marketplace via Flash Seats.
