Indians developmental league update
The Scorpions continue to stay hot, and with the way a few of the Indians prospects have been playing, we may see a few of them in the AFL All-Star game later this month.
LHP TJ House: 4IP 1 H 1BB 4Ks: House has 21K’s in 17 innings of work this summer and has allowed just two earned runs. He seems to have recovered from his late regular season slump. The AFL normally favors hitters because of the climate and ballparks, but House did play nearly a full season at Akron, so he has some experience edge in the league.
SS Ronny Rodriguez 22-4 3B 2 RBI Ronny extended his hitting streak to six games with five extra base hits and has all six of his RBIs in the last three games. Still hasn’t recorded a walk, but is finding a comfort zone at the plate.
OF Carlos Moncrief 0-4 4Ks. Rough day for Moncrief as the pitchers in the league get used to him. It was the first time he played on back to back days. He says he knows the strikeouts have to be reduced, but easier said than done. There could be hope, as he has grown as a hitter a lot since making his debut as a hitter in 2010, after converting from pitching.
RHP Hector Rondon: Leones Del Caracas: 1 IP 2 H 1K: Rondon’s last three outings have been good, not allowing a run in three innings. Throw out two disastrous outings and he’s had a good winter league stint. The Indians still need to make a decision on bringing him back on the 40 man roster.
OF Tim Fedroff Aguilas Cibaenas: 1-3 BB 2Ks. He finally snapped out of a two game hitless slide. The two strikeouts in the game are a bit of a rarity for him. What started out as a good campaign this winter, has turned into a little bit lackluster.
