Less than one week after the Wickliffe Blue Devils Boys Bowling team dominated the shorthanded Kenston Bombers they took on the Willoughby South Rebels. It was more of the same for the Blue Devils as they dispatched the Rebels 9-0 in the match.
Wickliffe got off to a strong start taking apart the Rebels 1054-894 in the first game.
Freshman Michael May led the charge with a 246 (High game on the lanes for the day), Sophomore Will Morris, tossed a 237 and Junior Ricky Bunn finished out the trio of 230+ games with a 233. Junior’s Tommy Shirer and Hunter Cunningham also contributed to the blowout first game for the Blue Devils.

Game two was a bit closer, but was never really in doubt as Wickliffe won by 61 pins 969-908. South Junior Tony Bodziony led all bowlers in game two with a 244 in the losing effort. Morris had the high game for Wickliffe in game two with a 225, finishing with a 462 for the two-game series. Morris now has a 211 average on the young season.

Things got even uglier for the Rebels in the Baker Games as Wickliffe swept the three games. Wickliffe took the first game 193-139. The Blue Devils won by an even larger margin in game two 180-124 and finally in game three Wickliffe squeaked it out 197-192. Wickliffe won the Baker series by a total of 570-455.

With the win Wickliffe in improves to 2-0 on the season and has not lost a game in two matches. The Rebels fall to 2-2 on the year.
