The Lake County Captains returned home on Monday night to begin a three-game home stand with the Bowling Green Hot Rods. The Captains liked the home cooking as they started the brief home stand right with a 1-0 win.

The Captains offense at home continued to struggle on Monday night. Heading into the series opener in five home games the Captains had scored 11 runs, on the road however in five games they had scored 43 runs.

The Captains managed only one run and it came in the sixth inning off Hot Rod's starter Adrian Navas. The run came with two outs and a Li-Jen Chu on third base (Chu reached third after he walked and advanced to third on a wild pitch) when Logan Ice singled to right field and Chu crossed home plate with the only run of the game.

Ben Krauth who came on in relief for Lake County picked up the win. Krauth pitched three and one third innings allowing just one base hit and issued one base on balls while striking out five Hot Rod batters. With the win Krauth improves to 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA. Navas took the loss for Bowling Green. The righty went the first six innings allowing only one run, it was earned on three base hits. He issued six base on balls and struck out four Captains. With the loss Navas falls to 1-2 with a 3.46 ERA.

With the win, their third straight Lake County improves to 6-5 on the year and 2-4 at home.

The Captains and Hot Rods will play game two of the three game series on Tuesday Night at 6:30 p.m. Kenny Rosenberg will be on the mound for the Hot Rods. Rosenberg is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA. Righty Aaron Civale will make the start for the Captains.
