Captains comeback for second night in a row to take down TinCaps 3-2

The Lake County Captains were coming off a walk off win on Friday night against the Fort Wayne TinCaps and were hoping to continue some of the magic on Saturday night.  The magic continued, for the second night in a row the Captains had a ninth inning walk off win to defeat the TinCaps 3-2 in front of 4,209 fans at Classic Park.

Thegame was scoreless until the sixth inning when TinCaps starting pitcher Blake Rogers, who had pitched five scoreless innings was replace by Nick Monroe to start the frame.  Monroe retired Captains first baseman Anthony Miller on strikes to start the inning, he then gave up a double to Angel Miguel.  Miguel then scored when Ordomar Valdez singled, giving the Captains a 1-0 lead.

The TinCaps came right back and scored two runs off Captains reliever Dominic DeMasi, who replaced starter Thomas Pannone who pitched six scoreless innings.  

The score remained 2-1 until the bottom of the ninth inning when Valdez singled to lead off the inning.  After Willi Castro struck out in a bad at bat Nathan Lukes singled and Valdez moved to third base.  Connor Marabell, who has played hero before pinch hit for David Armendarizand came through againas he doubled to right field, driving home Valdez and Lukes to give the Captains a 3-2 walk off win.

With the win the Captains improve to 5-5 in the second half and 45-35 overall.

The Captains and TinCaps will finish up their three game series on Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. when the Captains go for the sweep.  Thomas Dorminy will take the mound for the TinCaps.  Dorminy, a lefty is 1-1 with a 3.25 ERA.  The Captains will counter with Shao-Ching Chiang.  Chiang, a righty is 4-6 with a 4.67 ERA.
