Captains eclipsed by Dragons 7-2

Monday marked the final game of the Lake County Captains four game series with the Dayton Dragons at Classic Park. Things ended badly in the series for the Captains as they were eclipsed by the Dragons 7-2

Lefty Juan Hillman made the start for the Captains. Hillman looked, "ok" for the first two innings, but the in the third inning things did not go as well as the Dragons struck for four runs to take a 4-0 lead. In the inning Hillman surrendered four hits, a single, two doubles and a home run.

The Captains countered with a single run in the bottom of the fourth. The run came on a solo home run by Conner Capel. The home run for Capel was his 22nd of the season pulling the Captains to within three runs at 4-1.

In Hillman's final inning of the night, the fifth the Dragons added a single run on a solo home run by Jose Siri. The long ball for Siri was his 21st of the season.

The Dragons added two more runs in the eighth inning. As did Lake County in the bottom of the eighth, to make what would be the final score 7-2.

Hillman suffered the loss and falls to 6-9 with a 6.10 ERA. Scott Moss started for Dayton and picked up the win. Moss, went seven strong innings allowing only one run on six hits and struck out five Captains. With the win Moss improves to 13-6 with a 3.36 ERA.

On Tuesday, the Captains will begin a three-game series with the Fort Wayne TinCaps at 7:00 p.m. The TinCaps have not named a starting pitcher for the game. Micah Miniard will make the start for Lake County. Miniard, a righty is 4-11 with a 6.85 ERA
