Ashley Pryce leads Storm to victory in women's soccer opener 
(PAINESVILLE, OH) - The Lake Erie College women's soccer team opened the 2016 season with a 2-1 triumph over the Daeman College Wildcats on Thursday (September 3rd) at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium. 

For the first thirty minutes, the Storm and the Wildcats battled back and forth with no scoring involved. In the 32nd minute, Ashley Pryce found her way around a defender off of a pass from Aleeya Clemons. Pryce put a shot past the goalie from the top of the box, putting the Storm up 1-0 at the half.

Daeman answered in the 49th minute with an equalizer by Stephanie Zurales that came off of a corner kick for the Wildcats.

Lake Erie regained the lead late in the second half off of the foot of Pryce once again. Alecia Dipre put a shot up that was deflected by the goalie. After the deflection, Pryce put it home for a 2-1 lead that became the final score.

In the net, Marissa Brannon made eight saves for the Storm while allowing one goal.

Overall in the game, the Storm outshot the Wildcats 17-13 including ten shots in the second half.

The Storm will open the road portion with a game at Urbana University on Saturday (September 3rd). The match with the Blue Knights kicks off at 1:00 PM..
