Indians slip past Rangers 3-2

The Indians defeated the Texas Rangers (ss), 3-2, in Goodyear Ballpark on Monday afternoon.

The Indians plated two runs in the 5th inning to erase a 2-1 Rangers advantage on a Francisco Lindor RBI single that tied the game and a double by Chris Colabello that plated Lindor with the eventual decisive tally. The story of the day was again the Indians hurlers as Carlos Carrasco (2.0IP, 3H, 2R/ER, 0BB, 2SO) started, allowing a 2-run homer in the first by Nomar Mazara. The Tribe received scoreless two-inning outings from Zach McAllister, Adam Plutko & Chris Narveson, lowering the team ERA to 1.67 thru three spring contests.

The Indians will travel to Mesa, AZ tomorrow, Tuesday, February 28th to take on the Oakland A’s at 1:05 PM MT/3:05 PM ET in Hohokam Stadium. RHP Mike Clevinger will make his first start of the spring against RHP Jharel Cotton for the Athletics. The game can be heard on the web on Indians.com.
