Tribe shutout by Athletics 1-0

The Indians fell to the Oakland Athletics, 1-0, in Mesa’s Hohokam Park on Saturday afternoon. The game was well-pitched affair, featuring just 7 hits, and was played in 2:13. 

Trevor Bauer (4.0IP, 2H, 1R/ER, 0BB, 2SO) was impressive in his second start of the spring, allowing the game’s only run on a wild pitch in the 4th inning after a double just over first base opened the inning. Neil Ramirez, Tyler Olson, Alex Wilson and Nick Wittgren all followed Bauer with scoreless innings, limiting the A’s to just 3 hits on the afternoon.

The Indians will host the Kansas City Royals on Sunday, March 3 in Goodyear Ballpark at 1:05 PM MT/3:05 PM ET. SAM HENTGES will make his second start of the spring against RHP CHRIS ELLIS for the Royals. The game will be heard in Ohio on ALT 99.1 FM, Indians.com and the Indians Radio Network.
