Skippers fall to Lakers in NOC Championship game, move on to playoffs

The Fairport Harding Skippers traveled to Andover to play the Pymatuning Valley Lakers for the Northeast Ohio Conference Championship. The Lakers would go on to win the game and the conference by a score of 38-7. 

The Lakers got out to a hot start right from the kick, They would bring it to the Skipper 40 yard line and would score shortly after on a short run and would get the two point conversion, it would be 8-0 Lakers. The Skippers would not score on their first drive of the game and have to punt. The Lakers would score again with 3:40 left in the 1st quarter on a lucky catch by the Lakers receiver which bounced off of a Fairport players hands and helmet right into his hands, that made the score 16-0 as the extra point was good again. 

Soon again shortly into the 2nd quarter with 11:46 left the Lakers would score again and make the score 24-0 on what was another lucky catch by the Lakers another one that was tipped right into their hands. About three minutes later with 8:03 left in the 2nd the Lakers would score again. The score would be 32-0 and that would remain the score at the half. 

The second half would start with no scoring until 9:22 left in the 4th when the Lakers would score and miss the two point conversion the score would be 38-0. And a few minutes later the Skippers would get on the board on a 6 yard touchdown pass from Sophomore QB Will Fazekas to Junior WR Tai Malone making the score 38-7. That's how the game would end with that same score. The Skippers are home to take on the 0-5 Greenwich South Central Trojans as the look to win their first ever playoff game. Game time 7pm.
