​Lake Erie Volleyball splits tri-match
(WILBERFORCE, OH) - The Lake Erie College volleyball split a tri-match with Urbana University and Central State University on Tuesday (Oct. 18) night. The Storm swept Central State 3-0 (25-3, 25-11, 25-11) but fell to Urbana 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 22-25, 23-25).

With the split, Lake Erie is now 13-11on the season. The team tied a program record for wins in a season with 13, set back in 2007.

In the opener, Lake Erie cruised to a three set victory. In set one, the Storm held the Marauders to three points. Overall, Lake Erie had a hitting percentage of .477 for the match, a season best.

Lexi Lombardo (Olmsted Falls, Ohio / Olmsted Falls) led the Storm with nine kills while Gabrielle Woods (Elyria, Ohio / Brookside) finished with a season-high eight kills. Lee Lee Barrett (Chattanooga, Tenn. / Ooltewah) had seven kills, one solo block and two block assists. Alexis Thomas (Cincinnati, Ohio / Fairfield) led the defense with five digs and 23 set assists along with two service aces.

In the second match of the tri-match, Lake Erie won set one but dropped the final three sets. Throughout the final three sets, Urbana rallied to win the sets despite being behind.

 After hitting .524 in set one, the Storm finished with a .307 hitting percentage for the match.

Crystal Kedroske (Dexter, Mich. / Dexter) led the Storm with 13 kills. Barrett had 11 while Bethany Fisher (Orrville, Ohio / Dalton) had ten in the nightcap. Sidney Fletcher (Saline, Mich. / Saline) had the most digs for the Storm with 15 to go along with two service aces. The Storm defense totaled 13 block assists in the match.

Lake Erie will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Michigan for two matches against Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan.
