#9 Storm shuts out Walsh 2-0
(NORTH CANTON, OH) - The Walsh Cavaliers men's soccer team put up a fight against the number nine ranked team in the country, the Lake Erie Storm on Sunday afternoon. Walsh fell to Lake Erie 2-0 in a rain-soaked match at Milazzo Field.
Lake Erie opened the scoring in the sixth minute and held the lead through halftime. The Storm led the shot battle 8-4 in the first 45 minutes.
The second half began in a full rainstorm, soaking the teams and the pitch in the meantime. Ninth-ranked Lake Erie added a second goal in the 52th minute for a 2-0 lead. Walsh outshot the Storm 8-7 in the second half but could not take advantage, falling 2-0.
Lake Erie ended the contest with a 15-12 shot advantage over the Cavaliers with the wet conditions.
Ethan Burawa faced six shots on goal, making four saves on the afternoon (three in the second half).
The Cavaliers will look to avenge a loss to Alderson Broaddus as they host the Battlers on Thursday (Oct. 10) at 7:30 PM.
