Indians drop both split squad games 

The The Indians (4-6-1) dropped a pair of split squad contests on Monday afternoon in Arizona.

In Goodyear, the Indians fell to the Milwaukee Brewers, 14-4, as COREY KLUBER (2.1IP, 4SO) made his spring debut and JOSE RAMIREZ went 2-for-2 with a double and a pair of RBI.

Across town at Scottsdale Stadium, a second troop of Clevelander's took a narrow, 3-2, loss to the San Francisco Giants, as KYLE BLANKS tripled and scored on a KELBY TOMLINSON sac fly in the seventh to break a 2-2 deadlock. The affair lasted just two hours and 30 minutes.

DANNY SALAZAR worked into the third inning of his third Cactus League start, allowing a pair of runs on a pair of hits and four walks. OF GREG ALLEN raised his spring average to .333 (7-21) with two hits and also swiped a pair of bags. OF ABE ALMONTE (1st-inn. RBI-single) and C ERIC KRATZ (3rd-inn. RBI-double) both drove in runs.

The Indians are off on Tuesday and resume Cactus League play on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners in Peoria. Game time is 7:10 PM MT/9:10 PM ET with RHP CARLOS CARRASCO squaring off against HISASHI IWAKUMA for the M’s.

Major League camp players participating in the World Baseball Classic have all reported to their respective federations as of this evening.
