Indians, Carrasco pounded by White Sox 9-5 

The Indians (8-8-1) fell to the Chicago White Sox, 9-5, in Glendale, Arizona on Monday.

The White Sox scored 8 runs in the second inning against starter and loser Carlos Carrasco (1.2IP, 8H, 8R/ER, 3HR), including a grand slam by Tyler Saladino to cap the inning and end his day. The Indians took an early, 2-0, with a pair of runs in the top of the inning on a Yan Gomes lead-off home run and an RBI single from Erik Gonzalez (hitting .321 on the spring). Edwin Encarnacion went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and is now hitting .350 (7/20) on the spring campaign. Shawn Armstrong (1.1IP; 6.1 scoreless spring IP to date) continued his solid spring and Nick Goody, Dan Otero (1.2IP) and Hoby Milner chipped in scoreless outings.

The Indians will take on the San Francisco Giants tomorrow, Tuesday, March 14th in Goodyear at 1:05 PM MST/4:05 EDT. RHP Josh Tomlin will make his second spring start against RHP Albert Suarez. The game will be aired on television on SportsTime Ohio and on Indians.com
