Indians nipped by Giants 6-5 

The The Indians (8-9-1) fell to the San Francisco Giants, 6-5, in Goodyear Ballpark on Tuesday afternoon.

The Giants jumped out early with 5 runs in the first inning off starter and loser Josh Tomlin (3.0IP, 8H, 6R/5ER), including home runs from Jarrett Parkerand Justin Ruggiano. Tomlin settled down, allowing 1 unearned tally over his last two frames. The Indians clawed back to within a run, scoring a pair in the second inning on RBI hits from Richie Shaffer & Jose Ramirez and getting another pair of runs in the 7th inning on a Bradley Zimmer 2-run double. Ramirez and Zimmer are hitting .357 and .353, respectively, this spring. The Indians received 6.0 scoreless innings out of the ‘pen, getting scoreless outings from Josh Martin, Carlos Frias, Boone Logan, Chris Nerveson and Matt Whitehouse.

The Indians will take on the Texas Rangers on Wednesday, March 15 in Surprise at 1:05 PM MST/4:05 PM EDT. RHP Trevor Bauer will make his fourth start of the spring against RHP Nick Martinez for the Rangers. The game will be aired on WTAM 1100, the Indians Radio Network and Indians.com.
