Fairport dominates once again in 77-39 win

The Fairport Harding Skippers hosted the Brooklyn Hurricanes in a non conference battle that was just that in the first half.  But the second half was a different story and Fairport came away with a blow out win 77-39.

The first quarter started off with Fairport and Brooklyn sharing turnovers. But soon the Skippers controlled the ball with poise and started scoring. Skippers Senior Chris Peoples scored six points and had three rebounds in the quarter to lead the team in both categories. Fairport had the lead 15-9 at the end of the 1st. 

Both teams shot better in the 2nd quarter. The Hurricanes and Skippers both scored 17 in the quarter and Peoples finished the half with 15 points leading all scorers and Junior Joey Tanker would go into the half with nine points. The Skipper held a 32-26 half time lead. 

In the second half the Skippers came with a different energy as they out scored the Hurricanes 22-3 playing amazing defense, which included nine steals in the third quarter. Fairport Senior Dom Trusty would come out on fire scoring eight points in the quarter on just four shots. The Skippers were up 54-29 after three periods. 

Fairport again out scored the Hurricanes 23-10 in the 4th quarter and Trusty was still on fire.  He scored 11 points in the quarter on his 8th point of the quarter he would help Peoples get his second straight triple double finishing the night with 22 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists, leading the Skippers to the win. The Skippers are now 6-5 on the season.
