Fairport outlasts Edgewood 77-66

The Fairport Harding Skippers traveled to Edgewood High school on Friday night to play the Warriors. Fairport took home the win by a score of 77-66. The Skippers were led by Seniors Dom Trusty and Chris Peoples along with Junior Joey Tanker. 

The Skippers came out hot starting the game on a Tanker three pointer which started an 8-0 run. The quarter then played even 10-10 the rest of the way making the score 18-10 at the end of the quarter. 

The Skippers had a great 2nd quarter outscoring the Warriors 21-12. The Skippers played their usual game diving after the ball and playing great defense. The Skippers led the game 39-22 at the half. Trusty led all scorers with 13 points at the break.

Starting the third, the Warriors came shooting back cutting into the 17 point lead the Skippers once enjoyed making it a nine-point lead at the end of the third 55-46. A bright spot in the quarter for the Skippers was Senior Chris Peoples who had 4 assists.

The Skippers took control back in the fourth quarter as Peoples and Tanker combined for 10 points and six assists finishing off the Warriors. Peoples grabbed his fifth triple double on the season.

The Skippers will be in action again on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. at Pymatuning Valley against the Lakers.
